Federal law requires all U.S. Government employees traveling overseas on official government business to notify the U.S. Department of State of a traveler’s presence within a foreign country. These Country Clearance Cables notify the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C., U.S. Embassies and post officers abroad of employee’s proposed travel to a foreign country.

Please be advised that country clearance requests are to be submitted to the NOS International Program Office at least thirty (30) days prior to travel.
